Recognizing that access to clean water and sanitation is a cornerstone of health and learning, ASI invests in borehole drilling, water point rehabilitation, and hygiene education programs. School-based hygiene clubs are established to promote handwashing, sanitation, and safe water practices. Communities are also trained in maintaining water systems and adopting better hygiene practices.
Expected Outcomes include reduced cases of waterborne diseases, improved hygiene and sanitation practices among children and households, and stronger community resilience through access to reliable and safe water.
Outputs will include the establishment or rehabilitation of at least three water points annually, training of 1,500 community members in hygiene and sanitation each year, and the formation of school hygiene clubs to lead peer-to-peer health promotion initiatives.
