Goal
In response to high youth unemployment in Uganda, ASI equips children and youth with practical life skills, vocational training, and digital literacy to prepare them for future opportunities. The initiative runs programs in tailoring, carpentry, crafts, entrepreneurship, leadership, and ICT training, ensuring that young people gain both employable and entrepreneurial skills. Integrating digital literacy bridges the gap between rural children and the digital economy, empowering them to compete in a modern workforce.
Expected Outcomes include increased youth employment and self-reliance, stronger entrepreneurial confidence, and enhanced digital skills among children and youth. Communities will ultimately benefit from a new generation of skilled, innovative, and responsible young leaders.
Outputs will include training 200 children annually in digital literacy through structured computer training programs. Additionally, 100 youth will be trained each year in vocational skills such as tailoring, carpentry, and crafts. Leadership and conflict-resolution training will also be conducted in ASI-supported schools to foster responsibility and resilience among learners.
